Q-Who developed TalkTrain and how were the idioms and expressions selected?
A-The product was developed in a language school in Asia by the founders of EducateYourself Co., Inc. Foreign speaking students who were learning English helped choose the idioms. They felt that these 750 were the most popular.

Q- What version of the course is this and when was it published?
A-This is TalkTrain v 2.0. The course was revised in 2008 and converted into an on line course. We are so happy that the whole world now has access to TalkTrain.

Q-What are Idioms or colloquialisms?
A-Idioms and colloquialisms are groups of words, sayings or expressions whose meanings could not be understood by looking at the words in the phrase. They have a special meaning in the English language and American society.

Q-What is the education system that the course uses?
A- It is called a Learning Management System and is used in other online courses.

Q-Can I go at my own pace?
A-The course is designed for you to use it when, where and how long you want. You can pause and repeat lessons as often as you want.

Q-Are there exercises after each course?
A- Yes.

Q-How will I know how I am doing?
A-There are questions in the exercises and we give you the answers right away so you know how you are doing?

Q-Is there a test at the end of each level?
A-Yes, and through an educational management tool, we will score your test.

A-Yes.

Q-Is there training to show me how to use the program?
A- Yes, the first course is called an "Introduction to TalkTrain." It is a quick starter program which will instruct you how to take the course. There are sample screens that you can look at and a person will tell you what to do.

Q-How will TalkTrain help me?
A-The most difficult part of learning American English is the conversational part, speaking with other Americans. Many people use idioms during their conversations. Taking TalkTrain will only help you understand what people are saying and make you more comfortable socially and at work.

A-Definitely. It will help you do a better job because you will be able to understand what people are asking you and saying to you. It will also help you find a better job.

Q-Can I try out the course first before deciding to take the whole course?
A-Yes, you can sign up for the starter package for one month for $30. If you want to go on, then you can sign up for 3, 6 or 12 months at a time.

Q-What level of English do you have to have in order to take TalkTrain?
A-You should be able to understand, read and write some English.

Q-How do I know what level to start with?
A-There are three levels. Level one is the easiest and Levels two and three get harder. One of the strengths of TalkTrain is that you can try out a few lessons from each level and decide which one is best for you to start with, although we recommend everyone start with Level one.

Q-When my subscription expires, am I automatically renewed?
A-No, we don’t think people like that. We will send you a reminder and if you want to subscribe again, you will sign up again.

Q-If others in my family want to sign up, do they need to subscribe?
A-Yes, everyone needs his/her own log in ID so that we can keep track of each individual’s score. We do offer a family pack so other members of the family can subscribe.

Q-How much time should I spend on TalkTrain?
A-We think that the best way to take the course is to study approximately ½ hour per day.

Q-If I study one hour per day, how long will it take me to finish one Level?
A-We think that if you spend one hour per day, one level will take about six weeks. But remember, everyone has a different pace. Some people may want to master it completely and may want to spend more time.

Q-If I want to take all three levels, how long should I sign up for?
A-We recommend six months or one year, depending on the amount of time you are willing to commit to improving your English.

Q-If I find others that need the course, can I sell it to them?
A-Yes, we would be happy for you to sell the course and we would reward you with commission money.

Q-How do I make the product fit my computer screen?
A-Just hit the F11 key or go into "Tools" on your web browser and click on "full
screen."

Q-What do I do If the Glossary or Idiom Reference don’t appear when I click on them?
A-Turn off your pop up blocker and it should work fine.
